About Cory
McGee started running with her father Jim when she was only nine. When her family lived in Greece for her father’s job, McGee was inspired as she watched the 2004 Olympics, and she even ran her first cross country race in Cairo, Egypt. With her family back home in Mississippi in 2005, McGee began to turn heads as the top distance runner in the state. She won her first cross country state title while in eighth grade, and she went on to win four more cross country and 17 track titles. Despite finishing third at USA Outdoors in 2013, McGee didn’t have the necessary B standard to compete at the World Championships, however on July 13, McGee ran a personal best and bettered the B standard of 4:09.00 by two and half seconds in 4:06.67.
