About George
George Kitchens is a two-time USA Outdoor long jump champion ('09, '13) and 2012 Olympian. Sitting in third place at the 2012 Olympic Trials, Kitchens knew his jump would have to be an Olympic ‘A’ standard in order to earn his spot on the US Olympic Team. In the third round  Kitchens jumped 8.21m/26-11 to hit the Olympic ‘A’ standard and earn the right to call himself an Olympian. Kitchens attended Clemson University from 2001-2005 where he was a three-time NCAA Division I All-American and a three-time ACC Champion. At the age of 12, Kitchens was shot multiple times at his home in Augusta, Ga. He still has the scars and it was a true story of redemption when Kitchens made the London Olympic team. When Kitchens is not training, he is working as a personal trainer in his hometown and helps train younger, local long jumpers.
