About
Jeremy Taiwo joins Gunnar Nixon as the youngest in a group of up and coming American multi-event athletes. He eclipsed the 8000-point barrier by a significant margin in placing second at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the decathlon with a score of 8239. He carried that momentum on to a third place finish at the USA Outdoor Championships and a spot on Team USA for the World Outdoor Championships. When Taiwo won the 2011 PAC 10 Outdoor title, he was forced to throw the javelin with his left arm due to injury. His father was a two-time Olympian competing for Nigeria.
