Gordon Bocock inducted into National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame
USA Track & Field congratulates longtime USATF official and Kentucky high school coaching legend Gordon Bocock on his induction into the National High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame after more 40 years of dedicated service to the sport of track and field.
This honor marks Bocock’s fourth hall of fame induction, following state honors in the KTCCCA Hall of Fame (1989), KHSAA Hall of Fame (2005) and Kentucky USATF Hall of Fame (2007).
His service to the sport has included duties as a head coach for Pulaski High School for more than 30 years and a post as meet director for the Kentucky state meets in cross country and track and field.
He is a nine-time KTCCCA Cross Country Coach of the Year, a two-time KTCCCA Track Coach of the Year and the only coach in the history of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association to win a state championship in Class A, AA and AAA all at the same school.
The NHSAA ceremony will take place at Kahler Grand Hotel in Rochester, Minnesota, on June 19 during the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s national convention.
Selection into the NHSACA Hall of Fame is based on longevity, service to high school athletics, honors, and other specific state criteria. The National High School Athletic Coaches Association is the oldest coaches association in the nation formed by coaches, for coaches, and has honored coaches from across the nation with induction into the NHSACA National Hall of Fame since 1996.
