1/15/2015

INDIANAPOLIS -- Increased end-of-year prize money, a rebranded circuit name and the addition of a “Super Circuit” are just a few of the highlights of the 2015 USATF Running Circuit (USARC) schedule released Thursday.

The 2015 USATF Running Circuit (formerly the USA Running Circuit) will include a “Super Circuit” that will award bonus points in six regular season events and a year-end finale. Additionally, there is an increase of prize money at the end of the circuit. USATF will now award $100,000 to be split between the top three male and female athletes based on USARC points scored.

All USARC events will be broadcast on USATF.tv, either live or on demand. The first USARC event of 2015 is Sunday, Jan. 18 with the USATF Half Marathon Championships in Houston. Coverage begins at 7:50 a.m. ET on USATF.tv.

The 2015 USARC will see a total prize purse of $687,900 offered by host events. U.S. athletes will also have the opportunity to qualify for various Team USA events, including the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, IAAF World Championships, Pan American Games and the Chiba International Ekiden.

The mission of the USATF Running Circuit is to showcase, support and promote U.S. runners. Since its inception in 1995, the USARC and its races have provided over $9 million to U.S. distance runners.
