USATF board member receives distinguished award
4/14/2015
INDIANAPOLIS -- USA Track & Field board member Mickey Carter on Saturday, April 11, 2015, received Notre Dame Law School’s Alvin McKenna Alumnus of the Year Award during the university’s 42nd Annual Black Law Students Association Weekend.
USATF CEO Max Siegel ('86, JD '92) presented the award, given annually to a graduate who distinguishes him/herself within the African American legal community and through support of BLSA programs and activities.
Carter is a 1992 graduate of Notre Dame Law School, and he has more than 20 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industries. In his current role as senior vice president of television networks and distribution for the CBS Corporation, he manages a team responsible for the multi-platform growth of and distribution strategies for all CBS-owned television networks, including the CBS broadcast network, CBS Sports Network, Smithsonian Channel, and Showtime.
Carter is directly responsible for distribution partnerships that represent approximately 70 percent of CBS subscribers to the traditional live, linear broadcast/cable television platform. He previously was vice president of national accounts for the Fox News Channel, senior director of programming for Time Warner Cable and in-house counsel for Zomba Recording Corporation.
