Resources for Event Directors

Organizing an event is no small task, but you are never on your own. Whether you are putting on your first meet or submitting a bid for a national championship, we have numerous resources to help you along the way.

During the planning stages of your event, check out our information on sanctions (to have your event officially recognized by USATF) and course certification (to ensure the distance of your road course is accurate). Once the event is over, be sure to return here for information on submitting results.

EVENT REGISTRATION
Event directors can set up online registration for their event through the USATF web site.  Existing users can manage their event registration via this link as well.

EVENT SANCTIONING
A USATF sanction is an official designation issued by USATF, through a local Association, which approves and licenses the holding of a competitive track & field, long distance running or race walking event in the United States.

COURSE CERTIFICATION
The purpose of the USATF course certification program is to produce road race courses of accurately measured distances. For any road running performance to be accepted as a record or be nationally ranked, it must be run on a USATF-certified course.
