About Deena
One of the more accomplished distance runners in American history, Kastor returned to the World Championships in 2013 for the first time since 2007. This was Kastor’s second world championship of the year after competing at World Cross Country and helping the team to a 4th place finish. Excelling at the marathon distance, Kastor has claimed top ten finishes at a total of eight major marathons since 2001. Kastor is also a member of the USATF Board of Directors and won the 2003 Jesse Owens Award, which is given annually to the top American track and field athlete. Kasor gave birth to daughter Piper in 2011.
